2011 Fic Exchange, Phase 2

Our exchange participants not only know how to write to great prompts, they also know how to ask for great stories. Following are the unfilled prompts, listed by fandom. We have not attached recipient names to any prompt but we know who's who, and when a story comes in we'll be sure to let the proper recipient know.

The same rules apply here as they did for the fic exchange itself: the fic should be at least 1000 words in length, the rating can't be exceeded, and when it's done it should be mailed to the mod account with the submission header on it. We'll post it and send notice to the recipient that one of their prompts has been filled: voila, just like magic. The main difference is that anyone can fill them; you need not have taken part in the exchange to write to one of these prompts. Also, any prompt is eligible to be filled more than once. There's no need to worry that someone else will claim the story or stories you want to write, and you can write as many as you want.

Baccano!
Preferred Characters: Firo/Ennis with anyone else added in
Prompt: They balanced each other. I recently watched Baccano and loved Firo and Ennis and wanted to know more about how they work.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R or higher, I can't see anything in this fandom being too fluffy
Notes: I'm open to so much in terms of fics and love missing moments that answer questions or what happens next stories. I adore humor and when characters are themselves. Thank you for writing for me.

Battlestar Galactica (2003)
Preferred Characters: I am open to whatever other characters you feel like writing or believe are appropriate to the prompt, but my favorites are Kara, Laura, Sam and Saul and you can't possibly go wrong with an emphasis on those four.
Prompt: Revelations and Sometimes a Great Notion made for one hell of a punch to the gut: show me the immediate emotional aftermath. What were things like for Starbuck after discovering her body, for Starbuck and Sam after the Cylon revelation, for Laura as she's faced with the disappointment of Earth, for Saul and Bill as years of a friendship threatened to crumble in light of Saul suddenly being "one of the enemy." You can tackle one of these questions, tackle all of them, or add your own to the mix: I'll be thrilled no matter what. Also, I should note that while I am a HUGE sucker for Kara/Sam and will be thrilled to see any focus on them, I don't require you to make their relationship something it isn't in canon (even at that particular less-than-happy point).
Maximum allowed rating for this request: NC-17, but I don't require sex in the story! Just keep the feel of canon and I will happily follow wherever your story takes you.
Notes: I love having missing moments explored and reading fic that feels like it could easily fit between episodes or chapters of its canon. Strong characterization in fanfic has the effect of catnip on me. I don't need sex for sex's sake or slash for slash's sake; I'm very much about fanfic that feels true to the spirit of canon. I've written a lot for my prompts here because I'm always afraid of being one of those people who doesn't give my writer enough to work with, but keep in mind that it's just my effort to throw out ideas I'm interested in and offer you alternatives. I promise I will enjoy whatever you're inspired to write after reading all of this.

Bourne Trilogy (Movieverse)
Preferred Characters: Jason, Marie
Prompt: This is to a girl who got in to my head with all the pretty things she did...this is to a girl who got in to my head with all these fucked up things I did.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: I really don't care, to be frank. My only thing is that I don't want out-and-out porn. If I want porn, there's plenty out there. I read fic because I love the characters.
Notes: I'm sorry if my rating note thing comes off making me sound like a twat, but it is something that's important to me. That's not to say I'm not a fan of sexyteims; far from it. Things can most definitely be sexy without there being any actual sex. I'm a huge fan, however, of seeing characters run through emotional wringers. Taking them apart and seeing what makes them tick always makes me happy, and I'll take nailing the characters over intricate plot any day. Not that I'm opposed to intricate plot, mind you. With the Bourne fandom, my GOD do I love broken Bourne. Lovelovelove.

Cowboy Bebop
Preferred Characters: Spike, Faye
Prompt: give the dog a bone
Maximum allowed rating for this request: pg-13

Divergent
Preferred Characters: Four/Tris
Prompt: Loving Tris was the most selfish thing he'd ever done.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: NC-17
Notes: Please no extreme kinks or OOC.

Falling Skies
Preferred Characters: Any one (or any subset/combination) of the following: Tom Mason, Hal Mason, Ben Mason, Matt Mason; Anne Glass, Margaret, Dai.
Prompt: Sometimes it's hard to remember what came before.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: Thank you in advance for taking this on! I am sure that whatever you write will be delightful beyond words, and I am very much looking forward to it. But since I suspect you're interested in something of a guideline, I will say that I have a deep and abiding love for stories that showcase complex characterization and which provide some sort of insight into how nothing is ever quite "that simple."

Firefly
Preferred Characters: Mal, River
Prompt: They were not the same.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: Any notes to pass on to your assigned author: Chances are, I will be terribly pleased with anything you write for me. :) I'm always interested in people's takes on characters that aren't necessarily mine.

Preferred Characters: Mal, Zoe, Wash, Jayne, Inara, Simon, River, Book
Prompt: The crew of the Serenity pull a long con. Things don't go smooth.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: Howdy! I like fic to be as connected to canon as possible: as for Firefly, I'd love to see some rollicking adventure, comedy, and of course, someone ought to get shot. Mostly, I'm a fan of good characterization and well thought out story-telling; I prefer action, drama, romance and quick dialogue to internal monologuing. I'm so excited to see what you come up with, and thanks in advance!

Harry Potter
Preferred Characters: All of them
Prompt: Nevil was the boy spoken of in the prophecy seventeen years ago, not Harry Potter. Any point of view, any location in the timeline, realizing, reflecting, anyone even. It's been curiosity of mine these last few days as I'm listening through Order of the Phoenix on my listening through all the audio books in this month to go over the canon again.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: All
Notes: I do not like: characters who are one dimensional, character who sounds like they are fourteen or twenty when they aren't, weak under developed villains, nonconsensual anything scenes (unless it's actually show in the canon before hand), abuse, needless character bashing or setting up of people (character a and b go together in this fic thus c and d and e and f must be together to make a and b have happened), weak women, and really unless it's very well written, and has a *point* to plot, I skim sex scenes and find myself bored. Mpreg, possessiveness or overruling jealousy, completely breaking something canon proved.
I like: plots and character development, especially deeper into the canon which we haven't gotten to see. I love relationships; friends, family, lovers (together and unrequited). Prose that is written as poetry. Narrators (though this one is very hard to have pulled off correctly). I like happy and I like dark. Set the right, true depth in a scene and I'll be there whatever you put it. Scenery and setting, and all the people and places this connects to being present is important. Strong characters, over whelming emotions, hard truths, hypocritical humanity (or beingness), to be able to feel and touch and hear what is happening, details that fill out the world around my characters makes my heart soar. Emotions, banter, secrets revealed, journals, poetry, literacy. Believable alternate universes, flawed characters, formal wear, bare feet, multiculturalism, twisted endings and what if endings. All sorts of weather, especially windy fall, snowy winter, sunny spring and rain.
I love love stories, too, perhaps, best of all. I don't mean just fluff, but any kind of story even unrequited or parted lovers, deaths, family, friends, etc love stories. If it has love in it somewhere, that is true and beating and not perfect, I will love it.

Preferred Characters: Narcissa Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy
Prompt: "Not my son, you bastard." We all know and love Molly's iconic "not my daughter, you bitch!" line from Deathly Hallows, but there has to be an equally interesting perspective on the other mother's experience of nearly losing her son to Voldemort. Narcissa and Lucius are two of my favorite characters in all of Potterdom, and I would love you forever if you could give me a good glimpse into why she does the things she does toward the end of the series, and where Lucius is with her on these things (if at all), and how it impacts the Malfoy family. Seriously, I will love you forever if you can keep them out of the realm of Evil Cartoon Characters and make them come alive with emotion. Show me what Draco's mom (and dad) are made of.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R.
Notes: I'm not a big fan of slash for the sake of slash. If it happens as a matter of course that's okay, but if it doesn't exist in canon, I'd prefer not to see it in a fic. Also, please, no incest or non-consensual sex. I don't mind dark and gritty at all, but the more a story's in keeping tone-wise with its canon, the more I'll tend to enjoy it.

Preferred Characters: Marauders, Weasleys, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood
Prompt: fairy tales
Maximum allowed rating for this request: pg-13

The Hunger Games
Preferred Characters: Haymitch Abernathy
Prompt: Today is a good day to die.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: PG-R
Notes: Any notes to pass on to your assigned author: Chances are, I will be terribly pleased with anything you write for me. :) I'm always interested in people's takes on characters that aren't necessarily mine.

Preferred Characters: Peeta, Cinna, Haymith, Other District Tributes,
Prompt: I fell in love with this canon and devoured it. I really love dystopian works and this one has so much that could be mined (or made) from what was given to us. Five billion anything prompts. What takes place between the first and second book, in those missing months? What does Peeta go through while he's held prisoner by President Stone for three-fourths of the third book? What was Haymitch life like during his time in the arena, or even better yet: What does this whole trilogy look like through his eyes? Or Prim, what does she think of the fact all of this happened because of her name? Who is she and is who she becomes because of it? What about an AU where she actually went into the Games, what happens to the whole universe then? I would honestly adore almost anything you could give me of this.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: All

Justified
Preferred Characters: Raylan Givens, Boyd Crowder, Ava Crowder, Winona Hawkins -- any one or any subset or combination.
Prompt: These are the kinds of things that outsiders never understand.

King Arthur (2006 Movieverse)
Preferred Characters: Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot
Prompt: The song "Short Change Hero" by The Heavy
Lyrics -- http://www.metrolyrics.com/short-change-hero-lyrics-the-heavy.html
Song -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1QUZzeZoPQ
Maximum allowed rating for this request: I really don't care, to be frank. My only thing is that I don't want out-and-out porn. If I want porn, there's plenty out there. I read fic because I love the characters.

With the King Arthur fandom, I'm not interested in infidelity. I love the dynamic between the three of them, how charged it is. They're a balancing act of the best sort. Feel free (but not obligated) to get bloody and violent with this particular fandom.

Lost
Preferred Characters: Kate. Sun. Bonus points for anyone else you'd like to include.
Prompt: Kate and Sun's friendship. I would love a collection of key moments in their friendship, stretched over the course of the series. Alternatively, something focusing on their friendship off the island would be equally welcome. As a third alternative, you could say screw everything and write me a BSG/Lost crossover using the song Damascus by Nerina Pallot (http://lyrics.wikia.com/Nerina_Pallot:Damascus) as your inspiration.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: I love having missing moments explored and reading fic that feels like it could easily fit between episodes or chapters of its canon. Strong characterization in fanfic has the effect of catnip on me. I don't need sex for sex's sake or slash for slash's sake; I'm very much about fanfic that feels true to the spirit of canon. I promise I will enjoy whatever you're inspired to write after reading all of this.

Narnia
Preferred Characters: Tumnus, Lucy, Susan, Edmund, Peter
Prompt: To know your friends understood without speaking was a rare thing. There's so much history between all these characters, I'd love to see some of it.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: PG
Notes: I'm open to so much in terms of fics and love missing moments that answer questions or what happens next stories. I adore humor and when characters are themselves. Thank you for writing for me.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Preferred Characters: Jack Sparrow, Teague Sparrow
Prompt: Growing Up. What was it like for little Jack? How did he become the pirate he was, and what did Dad contribute (or not) to his upbringing? This is almost my one crack request, because I can't really imagine tiny!Jack sashaying around, but I would love to see it if you can write it.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: I'm not a big fan of slash for the sake of slash. If it happens as a matter of course that's okay, but if it doesn't exist in canon, I'd prefer not to see it in a fic. Also, please, no incest or non-consensual sex. I don't mind dark and gritty at all, but the more a story's in keeping tone-wise with its canon, the more I'll tend to enjoy it.

Stargate: Atlantis
Preferred Characters: John Sheppard, Elizabeth Weir
Prompt: Growing pains
Maximum allowed rating for this request: PG-13
Notes: I would prefer no smut. I'm most interested in reading about character relationships and how they shape and inform the canons and the characters. I've picked combinations whose friendships I'm interested in, so I'd love to see anything exploring that: affirming their friendships, going through tough times, wondering what could have been. The one proviso is that I'd prefer not to read about any of these sets of characters hooking up since they're not together in canon. I would be interested, though, in anything that explores the feelings they may have for each other. For all the canons, I'd be interested in just about anything exploring the way these characters interact with each other, so you have a lot of leeway, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you write!

Take the Lead
Preferred Characters Rock/LaRhette
Prompt: LaRhette has a scholarship, courtesy of letters of recommendation from Dulaine and Augustine. Her family needs her. And then there's Rock.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: PG-13
Notes: Please no extreme kinks or OOC.

Torchwood
Preferred Characters: Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper
Prompt: When there's nobody else
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: I would prefer no smut. I'm most interested in reading about character relationships and how they shape and inform the canons and the characters. True Blood
Preferred Characters: Sam Merlotte, Sookie Stackhouse, Arlene Fowler, Terry Bellefluer, Jason Stackhouse, Hoyt Fortenberry
Prompt: Bon Temps could use a good watering hole, and that's what Sam intends to give it. Pre-series.
Maximum allowed rating for this request: R
Notes: Howdy! I like fic to be as connected to canon as possible: with TB, it's all about characterization: Sam is so complicated and I'd love to see you delve into the hypocrisy and vulnerability and eagerness of his character. Mostly, I'm a fan of good characterization and well thought out story-telling; I prefer action, drama, romance and quick dialogue to internal monologuing. I'm so excited to see what you come up with, and thanks in advance!
