I really enjoyed it. I know Wash dying left a hole for everyone, there are many fanfics on ff.net of people trying to come up with an alternative or at least remember the good times so the reality of this hard time isn’t the last memory we have of him and thankfully I can add this to my list of memories. By the time I got to “It’s dark when you die” my eyes got teary and by the time I finished they were rolling down my face. It was sad of course letting Wash go again but at least it was done on better terms than how he left the first time. I was also glad for River because he provided her with a voice and a life, in a way. We’ve still yet to see the Real River, we’ve only seen the damaged one so to hear River laughing and having a running dialogue, even though it was with a dead man, still made me happy for her. In spite of hearing all the brain waves around her, she must be so lonely up there.

I can’t think of any way to improve this. Great job.
