This is great. It's so lovely and each of the characters are so gorgeously represented. I love Mal's struggle to hold back his misgivings for the sake of the crew and for his own desire to have Wash back again; I love Zoe's brittle strength and Simon's politic way of staying out of the spotlight but always hovering nearby, just in case River needs him. And I love the idea that Wash could somehow find them again, and they could be a family again, even it's only briefly.

Just such a pleasure to read.
