First off, THANK YOU. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
I'm sorry if any of this comes off as rabid, but this piece totally deserves that kind of a visceral response if only because it WAS so visceral and amazing.
(And Eames. My GAWD Eames. That was exactly what I was hoping for when I asked that he bring the snark if he showed up at all. YES.)
I love how you had her designing things along the lines of Arthur's taste; he's remained this presence, haunting her mind and her work. And so Arthur just showing up like some sort of ghost is perfect. Not just for that alone, either. Those involved in dream sharing would have to be that kind of invisible, point men especially.
AND THE ENDING. Sweet Murphy. You lace that last conversation with this perfect double meaning; that last exchange in particular works like a flipping charm.
This is to say nothing of how the design of these hidden doors and the like parallels their relationship. That's a clever, elegant little touch. You've created LAYERS in this piece. Surfaces and what's beneath, what's hidden in that 'beneath', both in the designs Ariadne's making, what's happening between her and Arthur, and how they speak with one another, and GUH. Yes, yes, yes. Once more, THANK YOU. This was just what I was hoping for and more.
