I said so before (er, in emails!) but I'm so delighted you like this! You write Sam so perfectly that I was all nervous. His turn to a life of crime never really sat well with me, either: I mean, I know why he did it as a kid, since he had no money, but he grew up to be a responsible adult, right? And then canon gave us conman!Sam in S3 and I was like ... whut, TB? Why? Especially since I think he really does care what the world makes of him. The bit with Charlene in the show made me so sad for him since it was clear he finally thought he might have a decent future. So I'm really glad you think that works.
